Does anyone know if you can use the tracking method for creating points?
This would be very useful.  I did a demo of Cyclone Topo II and it had the option to create points at the center of striping, lowest and highest points, edge, etc..  Something along the same lines would be a great tool for polyworks.

Hi, I'm not sure if I understood correctly, but many goals in PolyWorks can be achieved by converting objects from one type to another using the import - export functions.
So if your tracking produces a polyline, this can easily be converted in points by exporting it in a textfile and importing the same file as (feature-)points.
Selecting only the needed points might be another issue, though.

I'm not sure I understand your question. It's unclear to me wether you want to import data from another software or make measurements like in another software.

But, from what I gather, it's survey data on which you want hight points in an area, edges, etc. This is all available already in Polyworks. There are techniques of measurements available for those.

1- Checkout the comparison options like convert min and max to points.
2- Check also the polyline tracking of edges and step edges (and also pipes and cables).

Finally, there is a great learning tool on the TSZ (Technical Support Zone) of InnovMetric's web site. You can login to the TSZ from their main page and user the username "polyworks" and the password "accurate" to access the learning guide videos and the section about survey is very well done.

Cheers!
