How are you checking the dimension? Point to point? Plane to plane?

Macro World / Re: Get the index of a feature

The command you used does not obtain the XYZ coordinates of a point, it merely gets the point's location in the tree. You want this command:

TREEVIEW PRIMITIVE POINT PROPERTIES POINT GET (  )

What commands do you feel are missing?

Inspector / Re: Create a section along a circle?

There is a visual lay out available in Innovmetric's Technical Support Zone which allows the cutting of cylindrical cross sections.

It will use a cylinder to cut a section at the intersection of scan data with the cylinder wall, then "unroll" the section to make it planar.

Perhaps this is what you're looking for?

Whoops! Maybe that's why there haven't been many new members lately... I've fixed it, thanks for letting me know!

You will need nominal primitives to calculate true position, however there is an easier way to create them. Once you've measured all your features, you can create duplicates of those measured features, then swap them to nominals. Then you can edit each new "nominal" numerically to give it the proper values. After that, you can match then back up to your measured values.

After you've done one part like that, you basically have a CMM program you can "run" for the next part.

Forum Suggestions / URGENT: New Forum Host Needed
August 01, 2013, 10:59:43 AM
I need someone to take over the forum admin and hosting.  I can transfer the domain to you so it can keep the same name, or you can start your own. I can send you the data so it will look the same. Let me know if you are interested.

IMAlign / Re: PTX Import from Leica Cyclone
June 25, 2013, 07:29:43 AM
I have imported PTX in the past from a Surphaser scanner and it worked well and did not loop.  However, I did not have a 3GB PTX file.  I might be able to dig up a PTX file for you to import and test.  If you would like for me to test importing a file of yours let me know - it could be a computer performance thing.

IMAlign / Re: ImAlign - DATA

My rule of thumb was to use a min step slightly less than the accuracy of the data. That made sense to me and worked pretty good. Sometimes it creates large data files, but I'd rather worry about that later.

Modeler / Point Cloud from CAD File
March 13, 2013, 11:54:44 AM
I'm trying to generate a point cloud from a CAD file.  I would like to specify a max point spacing when generating the point cloud.  I can't figure it out.

Please help  :)

I have sprayed developer on machined parts.  It doesnt add much thickness to the part and comes off.
