Does anyone have any recommendations for a 64-Bit laptop?

This one is great:  http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9166323&type=product&id=1218041149114 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9166323&type=product&id=1218041149114)

Who wouldn't want a notebook that can handle 8GB of RAM?

There are similar versions that use AMD processors which seem to have a lot of overheating issues.

Keep in mind, when you purchase an HP, Dell, Gateway etc. computer from a big box reatailer like Best Buy, the original manufacturer usually does NOT provide any support if an issue arises.  If I had it to do over again, I would spend the extra couple hundred bucks and purchase it directly from HP to have manufacturer support.

I personally use a Dell Precision M6300.  The Dells usually work fine.  However, for a less expensive, more customizable option, you might try Sager.

They specialize in notebooks, they are less expensive, and they have tons of options.  I've used a few Sagers and never had a problem.
