Title: Bluetooth
Post by: cappleby1 on July 08, 2014, 03:39:57 AM
Has anyone had trouble when using a FARO Edge and trying to connect to Bluetooth?  I have paired my device in the bluetooth software then added the device under the faro software in the start menu (Faro>Bluetooth connection setup)  After the connection is added I tried to connect in polyworks by clicking the icon to connect.  I see that it is trying to connect on COM40 in the task tray however the connection does not work and the error polyworks displays is Faro usb not found.

You need to verify which COM port the FAROArm is actually installed on via the device manager. It probably isn't COM40.

I have verified that the com port is correct and the blue tooth says it is connected when your are in the faro connection software.

Still I think there is some type of communication error between the software and the arm. I cant track down what it is.  FARO may have to send out a tech for this one.
