Title: Barcode Scanning
Post by: Admin on October 04, 2012, 07:26:15 AM
I just saw on the IMFlash that 12.0.14 has barcode scanning.  I am really hoping that I can incorporate this into a workflow eventually:

1. Pull up workspace manager
2. Run macro
3. Scan barcode
4. Macro imports/opens appropriate IMInspect project for me to use for the inspection of the item

I havent had time to play with this yet, but I just wanted to start the conversation.  Does anyone know if this functionality is there yet, or is it just something to record something like serial number as an parameter in IMInspect?

The functionality is indeed there already. I haven't gone any further than creating a QR code through the macro script editor. I want to play with it though.

I was thinking about modifying the barcode on our load tags, so the operator could scan it and pull up the right project for their parts.  Good mistake proofing!
