I am inspecting a scanned cylinder ID. The part has a few holes drilled into it and I would like to check for roundness of the cylinder above and below the drilled holes. I am having trouble finding a way to measure if the cylinder is tapered or oblong because of the manufacturing process.
Any way to achieve this?
I always just measure the deviation of the data object to the cylinder itself. Then I interrogate the color map from there.
You can also add a cylindricity GD&T callout for the cylinder in question to get an overall out-of-round number.
